Here are the revised web collaterals for our concert:
Changes to the artwork are:
1. Changed the hood area and adjusted the style of the headlights, so it won't look like "eyes".
2. Adjusted the shape of the flags to make it look like "banderitas".
3. Changed the size and colour of "PSALMIDEO CHORALE" at the top of the jeepney to give focus on the concert title.
4. Aligned the placement of the tires.
5. Created a shadow and outline for the sarimanok and the merlion.
6. Revised the placement of the concert details.
7. For the horizontal banners, the sarimanok and merlion are placed in front of the windshield to avoid redundancy. These 2 images replaced the concert title.
8. Over-all colours have been adjusted to saturated hues.
SET 1: BLACK BACKGROUND
nice work jessette.
ReplyDeletehere are my comments/suggestions:
1. i prefer the black background over the white. the white background dilutes the impact of the (already) muted colours of the jeepney.
2. typos to correct:
-all collaterals - the url for tickets.com is "www.tdc.sg" not "www.tdc.com.sg"
-vertical banner - SCO Concert Hall (double L for "Hall")
3. venue should be - "SCO Concert Hall, Singapore Conference Hall" (format: hall/auditorium, building venue)
4. the ticket url and hotline order should be consistent - either url then hotline or hotline then url (vertical and horizontal banners have different orders); i suggest url then hotline as the hotline only makes sense in relation to the online booking.
do we want to include a hp number from one of the members? this will help address those calls/enquiries that don't get through the hotline. the number can be a prepaid sim and not necessarily someone's personal number.
5. the red and white flag without the moon and the stars is not the flag of singapore but indonesia's. have we checked the laws in this country regarding the use of the sg flag?
6. the "PSALMIDEO CHORALE" is hard to read given the nearness of the font colour (teal?) with the purple background; remedy by changing the colour or adding a shadow layer
7. "MANILA MANILAH!" should also be given a shadow layer to further differentiate it from the rest (and make it 'pop-out' from the page even more. the shadow colour can be any of the darker tones of the jeepney.
8. what is the red thing at the right side of the jeepney? i'm assuming it's a red spare tire. it doesn't really add much to the overall visual impact of the jeepney (though it makes it more consistent to jeepneys back home). i suggest to remove that sub-element or at least give it more muted colours.
9. congratulations on coming up with the jeepney-sarimanok-merlion elements. you (or was it an entire team?) are clearly gifted, and, more importantly, inspired.
perceived advantages:
a) iconic; b) visual representation of the themes: sound trip, journey, cultural experience, etc.; and c) very tastefully done
10. gambatte,gambatte yo!
cheers,
aldougs
Hi Jessette!
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this! :)
Yung name natin should be PSALMI DEO CHORALE.
Separate yung Psalmi and Deo.
Thanks
Karina
Karina, re: Name, I don't think we should revert to separate Psalmi & Deo since there's already a recall of "PsalmiDeo".
ReplyDeleteJessete: in the vertical banner, please remove "tickets.com" before Hotline. Thanks.
Hi All, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I am exercising my rights now as project manager and also the marketing design head to make the final decisions on this.
ReplyDelete1) Name: we are sticking to PsalmiDeo as one word, as we have been doing for the last 3 years. In this case, it is ALL CAPS so current version is fine
2) the tagline - I take note of the concern, however, I strongly think/ feel/ believe that it is perfectly sound, pun intended. I have done some mini focused group discussions as well and the unanimous reaction is it is "clever" and "great". I have asked Marketing professionals such as Manny, and the Brand Manager of MTV and Nickelodeon Asia and they all say it is a great idea. (if it matters, i asked an internationally published Palanca Award winner too, and she says it's good) I have also discussed with several people in the choir, and they all say it is great. Random foreigners were asked too, and they all think it is clever. Just one more point, Jessette, can you keep the entire line together, and not separate it out like current.
3) Venue: stays the same. It is perfectly logical to name the building first, before the room. One does not say Recital Studio Esplanade.SCO actually just refers to it as SCO Concert Hall in their poster, but I think that works for their audience since they will have a loyal following. I think it makes perfect sense for us to name the building first as it is more familiar (especially to taxi drivers)
4) tickets.com hotline, stays the same. this was based on all other materials on tdc.com.sg
5)flag - we are not allowed to use the singapore flag. jessete, you can look at all the banners out there now for the National Day Parade, they all use elements of the flag but not the exact flag colors. so you can keep white and red, and the moon, for instance, just to give a hint. or just use all red and keep the moon and 5 stars.
6) www.tdc.sg is correct.
7) no other phone numbers for this web poster. unless the ticketing people want one of their numbers in (which i suggest not). in the physically printed posters, we can have the psalmi yahoo address in, but that's it. I don't want people getting lots of calls when we're already paying tickets.com for ticket admin. does not make monetary sense. nag tickets.com pa tayo kung ganun din lang, eh di sana self-ticketing na lang.
Thanks.

ReplyDeletefirst thanks for all the feedback. second, i am exercising my rights as project manager, and head of marketing design to make the final decisions

one more thing, i love the sarimanok and the merlion on the hood for the horizontal banner :) winner.
ReplyDeleteoh, and i prefer the black background. it is also consistent with our colors so far. as the Ambassador says, basta Psalmideo, trademark black.
